Our graduate program coordinates dedicated training with hands-on experience and is focused specifically on your professional role. At the end of your first twelve months you will have gained on-the-job experience, a thorough grounding in technical processes and procedures and an understanding of professional best practice.

Finance/Accounting Career Graduates (Assurance Audit)

Your role will initially involve you in gathering financial information from clients and client information systems. Your responsibilities will quickly develop from here, to include information testing and analysis, production of working/discussion papers, participation in audit report writing, and involvement in increasingly more complex projects and activities. While your university training will have introduced you to a variety of financial theories and processes, it is essential you are exposed to these in practice to gain a full appreciation of them. Most finance/accounting graduate programs restrict your ability to do this, only exposing you to one area, such as budgeting, or financial reporting, or taxation. The variety of clients and breadth of financial practices and activities covered, ensures you have exposure to a wider variety of these theories in practice across a broad range of client applications.

Performance Evaluation Career Graduates (Performance Audit)

Your role will initially involve you liaising with clients and client information systems to gather information on issues as diverse as client operations, resource application, information systems, performance measures, monitoring systems, legal and other compliance arrangements. Your responsibilities will quickly develop from here, to include information testing and analysis, production of working/discussion papers, participation in audit report writing, and involvement in increasingly more complex projects and activities. The breadth of ANAO clients across industry sectors and the range of specific programs evaluated provides you with exposure to a wide variety of business practices in action. Matched with your university training and ANAO courses, this hands-on experience provides a solid grounding for essential business skills in planning and analysis.
