Seminars provide a forum for interpretative guidance and best practice, as considered by the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO), to assist in the preparation and presentation of Australian government financial statements.
The Professional Services Branch of the ANAO runs various financial accounting technical seminars to provide valuable information to assist in the preparation of Australian Government Financial Statements. The seminars aim to provide accountants working for the Federal Government, with a technical update on contemporary accounting issues being faced by the public sector. The seminars highlight the changes in Australian Accounting standards, which encapsulates the Australian Equivalents to International Financial Reporting Standards (AIFRS), the Interpretations and the remaining Australian specific standards (the AAS prefixed standards). The seminars also address changes in the Australian Government financial and legislative framework that impact the financial reporting process, specifically the annual Finance Minister’s Orders (FMOs). These seminars are held in Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne.
