I have been working in the Finance and accounting sectors for several years including financial planning and business accounting before joining the ANAO as a graduate in 2005. I joined the ANAO because I was interested in auditing and none of the accountancy firms where I lived in Queensland offered the service.
Since I joined the ANAO I have had the opportunity to work on a diverse number of clients including the Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry, The Attorney-General's Department and the Department of Defence. In early 2010 I left the ANAO to join Airservices Australia where I worked in an accounting policy capacity, writing and advising on accounting policy issues before returning to the ANAO in mid 2011 to join the MPR team.
I enjoy the challenge of working with many different and varied equipment acquisition projects, understanding the different environments each one operates in, and learning more about the projects through interactions with their staff as well as the occasional chance to get up close and personal with some of the nation's most complex and important pieces of equipment such as fighter jets and submarines.
