This audit would examine the effectiveness of the Department of Home Affairs’ administration and performance monitoring of the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP), with a focus on service delivery and participant outcomes.

The AMEP provides up to 510 hours of English language tuition to eligible migrants and humanitarian entrants to Australia to help them learn foundation English language and settlement skills that enable them to participate socially and economically in Australian society.

The audit would provide a view on the quality and consistency of services delivered under the AMEP, the appropriateness of program performance measures, and the Department of Home Affairs’ reporting of the AMEP performance.
