About Us

The objective of this audit is to examine the effectiveness of the Attorney General’s Department’s (the department) administration of the Modern Slavery Act 2018.

Audit criteria

The ANAO proposes to examine:

  • Does the department obtain modern slavery statements from entities that are required to provide them?
  • Does the department undertake a fit for purpose assessment of the statements it has received?
  • Does the department maintain an up to date and accurate public register?
