The objective of this audit is to assess the effectiveness of public reporting on domestic, family and sexual violence expenditure under the National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children 2022–2032.

This audit is part of a series of commenced and planned audits on the topic of domestic, family and sexual violence:

The Auditor-General is also considering a related performance audit on the Administration and management of grants awarded under the Safe Places Emergency Accommodation Program, which is a potential audit on the Annual Audit Work Program 2025–26.

These audits will be conducted across the Social Services and Treasury portfolios.

Audit criteria

The ANAO proposes to examine:

  • Is there effective public reporting on expenditure under the First Action Plan 2023–2027?
  • Is there effective public reporting on expenditure under the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Action Plan 2023–2025?
