The overall aim of the National Drugs Campaign is to contribute to a reduction in the uptake of illicit drugs among young Australians, by raising awareness of the harms associated with drug use and encouraging and supporting decisions not to use. The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), a division of the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing, is responsible for the regulation of the manufacture and supply of therapeutic goods. The objective of the audit was to assess the TGA's regulation of non-prescription medicinal products.
